March 6, 2012--Board Meeting @ Eat n Park at 6:00 p.m.

March 9, 2012--Regular Meeting at noon @ Minard's. Guest speaker Lion Steve Glass on a potpourri of Lions information.
March 23, 2012--Regular Meeting at noon @ Minard's. Guest speaker Dr. Bob Wanker, Associate of Dean of the WVU School of Dentistry, on the changes taking place at the WVU Medical Center.

April 7---WHITE CANE DAY--Eastpointe Krogers and Walmart, hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in 2 hours shifts. Interested in participating please contact Stumpie Bice @ (304)842-8668.
May 4-6, 2012---THE WEST VIRGINIA STATE CONVENTION AT THE RAMADA INN IN MORGANTOWN, WV is sponsored by our own Clarksburg Lions Club.

Lion Linda Ott and Lion Nick Lambernedis are the coordinators. They will need individual club members to assist at the convention. If you can help, please contact them. Also, Lion Patty Lambernedis is taking care of decorations for the tables. There will be about 30 tables plus the head tables. If you know where that many vases can be purchased cheaply, please let her know or if you have any other ideas.

FEBRUARY MONTHLY MEETINGS

March 10^th Meeting – Lion Don Niles introduced Olivia Adams, a volunteer coordinator for Hospice. She explained the many jobs that people can do for Hospice such as helping in the office, be a patient companion, or help with the Hospice Garden. If you are interested in donating time to Hospice, please contact Olivia.

March 24^th Meeting - Paul Hamrick enlighten the Lion membership on the environmental issues facing Harrison County. He was pleased that Lions International President, Wing-Kun Tam challenged Lions to plant trees. Mr. Hamrick stated that West Virginia Lions had surpassed their required goal.

EXCHANGE STUDENT

Dani Mazzini from Peru was a guest visitor at our March 10^th meeting. She was with her host family member, Lion Susan McMichael . Dani is the 3^rd Exchange student that Susan has had in her home. Pictured is President Clay Ott presenting a WV Lions pin to Dani. Also, Dani is

OPEN DOOR

Helen Jones from the Open Door can always use donations of paper towels, toilet paper, sugar (5 lb. bags), thin paper plates, napkins, coffee (cans), creamer (jars), disposable double edge razors, and shaving cream. Don’t forget the small sized toiletries. Give your donations to Lion Steve Glass.

LIONS SERVING THE COMMUNITY

On February 17th, members of the Clarksburg Lions Club and Nutter Fort Lions Club visited Nutter Fort Elementary School first graders and discussed the American Flag and presented each student with his/her own flag. Participating were: Mr. Benicosa, Ken Shahan, Steve Glass, Don Niles, Nick and Patty Lambernedis. Pictured is Lion Steve Glass talking to students about the flag and a picture of some of the students who participated. Students knew a lot about the flag and were excited to get their own.

ONGOING CLUB ACTIVITIES

Brooms and Dish Clothes: The Club will once again sell brooms and dish clothes. We won't be going door-to-door but selling the items as people request them. So, Club members should let their friends and business associates know that we now sell brooms and dish clothes which have always had the reputation for quality.

Industrial Brooms $10.00

Household Brooms $9.00

Mops $5.00

Dishtowels (2 in a package) $3.00 a pack We have red, yellow, green, and blue.

Open Door: Has asked us to start saving the small bottles of toiletries (hotel/motel size). Bring toiletries to the Club meetings or events.

Cell Phones: Remember: When collecting eye glasses (and if the youth outreach committee is planning a Night for Sight) add used cell phones to the list of things that can be collected.

LIONS CLUB CAPS AVAILABLE - The Lions Club Caps are in and went out quickly. Only a few of left. Please contact Rusty at howardmall@suddenlink.net or 838-2698.

4 burial plots for sale: Burial plots were donated to the club for sale. Plots are located at Floral Hills Cemetery in Quiet Dell. If interested, contact us using our e-mail address: clarksburglions@gmail.com As hard as it is to believe, people are just dying to get these.
